Fun was had...we still have fun. Thanks to Ma and Pa for shuttling
us around. Thanks to James 'Blahblahblah' Perry for leading the
intermediate ride. Thanks to Mother Nature for providing perfect
weather and mud. Thanks to the Ouachita River Resort for the food and
banjo pickin'. Thanks to Ward for not running me over. Thanks to my
wife for letting me out for a 3 day weekend. Thanks to OEF for
sponsoring the trip. Thanks to my cabinmates for not snoring.
Fun...
there's that word again. Actually, it's very applicable. I had a great
time this weekend @ the OEF Womble retreat. It started with a very
intense Nite Ride on Friday evening. Charles, James, Adam and I
railed some nice single track with some bottom-bracket deep creek
crossings :-) 11 miles later we were all smiles. The hardcore ride
the next day saw 11 riders going for the 35 mile haul. Even though we
didn't have any super serious racer types in the group I can say for
sure that the pace wasn't slow... It was cool to see some new faces
on this ride, even Schlegel showed up and he did a great job wearing
everyone out just before lunch. The BBQ after the ride tasted great and
beer and stories flowed at the 'ring of fire'. And the live music
was pretty interesting also, just ask Ward and James :-)
