Womble 2002 Information

Attention all Dirt Heads!
Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship Presents: The Third Not Quite So Annual Womble Retreat, 2002. Not quite so annual you ask? Due to the damage from the December '00 ice storms that rolled through the Ouachita National Forest, OEF was forced to cancel the Spring '01 retreat. So now that the trail has been clean and cleared of the damage, we can get back to making this trip an annual event. Provided of course Mother Nature doesn't decide to remind us who is boss, again.
Once again, the OEF invites you to join us for our 3rd Annual Womble Retreat, May 3-5! The Womble trail, located near the town of Mt. Ida, serves up some of the most scenic and sweetest single track Arkansas has to offer. The trail meanders along the bluffs and ridges of the Ouachita River for nearly 40 miles. This will be a totally unique experience and it's only a 5 hour drive from OKC!

The retreat package includes:
*Guided tours Saturday and Sunday; Novice (10-12 miles), Intermediate (15-20 miles) and Hard Core (30 miles plus) - there will be no Hard Core ride on Sunday.
*Shuttle service to and from the trail.
*Tour itinerary and trail maps.
*Two nights tent camping with shower facilities.
*Saturday evening BBQ.

We will again be setting up base camp at the Ouachita River Haven Resort. They have a few cabins and electrical hookup for RV's. If you do wish to reserve a cabin it will require a deposit which is the cost for the first night and please keep in mind that it is non-refundable.
Also if you do not wish to drive your own vehicle, OEF will be providing round trip transportation from OKC utilizing a van that will also be used to shuttle riders to and from the trail. Linda "Ma" Tickle will be shuttling the riders while Mike "Pa" Tickle will be hauling the OEF trailer with all the bikes. Thanks Ma and Pa! Due the limited number of people the van will transport and limited number of bikes that can be hauled in the OEF trailer (17), the 2002 OEF Womble Retreat will be limited to 50 riders. First come, first serve!
