Roman Nose ride, Dec 2nd, 2000
Pictures and text: Marcel Slootheer 9 or so people showed up for this cold ride that was posted on the earthbike list. I pulled into the parkinglot, next to the General store, at 9AM and the temperature gauge read 34... Clifton and Wade were already there and soon Steve, Chris, Rhonda, Walt, Charles, Paul and James showed up. After what felt like putting on a million pieces of clothing we started the ride. Paul had problems with tires/tubes though and turned around after only half a mile. We continued, crossed the dam and rode/walked up the rockgarden. Here's Clifton on some single-track after the rockgarden...  Re-group after the climb through the rockgarden. By this time we had actually warmed up a bit.  Rhonda on a her new Specialized M4...  Re-group after a technical section.  Rhonda on the jump in the new section that Team Body Bag cut during the summer months...  Group op top of the world, on the new section.  On the downhill...  Here I'm riding the ridge just before the final downhill section to the creek... We only did one lap because we were all ready for a burger at the general store. Next time, join us! |
