Day 3 - The MidWest MTB Summit in KC...

On our third day we attended the summit where we set up our OEF booth. We actually had one of the coolest set ups with our tent, banners, trail maps, OEF socks and shirts, club fliers and state park information and a photo presentation via a projector. There were other booths with bike clubs, bike shops (with bikes from Specialized, Klein, Gary Fisher, Merlin, etc), IMBA, etc. There was an indoor bike trial area and New Belgium brought free beer. Charles was their main customer :-) There were presentations from IMBA, OEF and local mtb advocacy clubs. This was the first year for the summit and nobody was very stressed about the relatively low number of people that showed up... Everything was pretty low key and that was fine with us...
We all had a great time on this little outing, it was a good mixture of riding some good trails and hanging out with people from other clubs that face the same challanges as OEF; how to get people more involved in the sport, work with state & city and other land managers and maintain excisting trails and open new areas... See Ya Next Year!
