OEF Workday @ Bluff Creek 01/22/05

23 individuals showed up despite the fact that it was freezing cold outside with a howling wind. We made some major changes to the trail entrance and exit sections. We rerouted those sections (mostly) out of the open area and moved them up on top of 2 small ridges. This way we will no longer have the problem of low spots resulting in muddy sections. The new trail entrance is located further down the double track, and because of the way we routed this new trail it ties in further down the main loop. We now have a little longer trail between the exit "bail out" and where the new entrance ties in (when you do another lap). It will feel different but we believe this is a good solution. Besides, earlier this week the city came to remove some of cedars from the open areas and in the process plowed through the original trail entrance like it wasn't even there. We also put up a new map on the trailhead sign and we are working on getting new trail markers.

Much was accomplished in a short amount of time. A BIG THANKS to the following folks who left their warm house behind and instead helped improve Bluff Creek:
