OEF Workday @ Roman Nose State Park 02/21/04Report by Ward Combs, Roman Nose OEF Trail Boss Saturday the OEF held a workday out at Roman Nose to do a little bridge work. If you've done any riding out there in the past year, you know that the bridges down in the lowlands were broken and prone to being washed out. Well not any more! We were blessed with a beautiful day to accomplish our missions. We planned to replace both bridges, put signage in place to help prevent horse traffic on the South loop, and clear out a log jam in the fence line to help prevent the bridge at the end of the South loop from washing out again. I'm please to report we accomplished all three in grand fashion. A really good crew showed up to lend a hand and get things done. We broke up into four groups, one group for each bridge, a group to attend to the signage placement, and a group to clear out the fence line. Everyone really buckled down and we had all four tasks finished in about two hours. After the work was finished we all sat down and enjoyed a burger & fries at the General Store. Most everyone went for a ride after lunch. Good people, good food, good conversation, good fun... Many thanks to the following for making the trip to RN and lending a hand:
