Ride & Trip Reports

Tucson To Go - Early Feb 2004

Report & Pics by James Perry © 2004

The Riders: Ron Goodson & James Perry
The Location: Tucson, Arizona
The Story: I want to start by saying I don’t care to write about bike road trips (I do enjoy talking about them). I believe one needs to experience a road trip first hand. To get the feel, flow and smell of what a road trip can be. With that said I am still a fan of capturing other places to ride on film. Seeing other places to ride is a great motivator to start a bike road trip.

So here is the pictures and info on two great trails in the Tucson AZ. The two trails would be Fantasy Island and The Old Pueblo 24 Hour course. Both trails our around 16 miles of great 1-track desert riding, both are fast as your engine can take you- pro riders ride the 16.5 mile Old Pueblo course in under a hour, That is flying.
Fantasy Island is in a urban area setting and the Old Pueblo is out in the open on a ranch. It's a stacked loop system and the Old Pueblo is one big loop.
The two trails are not super techie but can be railed and have a great flow with excellent views of cactus and mountains. : )
