April 2005 - New-Mexico/Nevada/Utah/Arizona tripRiders: TJ, Ward, Charles, Steve, James, Marcel Pics by: Steve Ancik/James Perry/Marcel Slootheer © OEF 2005 Ride 1 - Cedro Canyon, Albuquerque, Nex MexicoAlong the Lone Pine Trail... Man, we often head through Albuquerque and do not stop to partake in some of the great riding -OUR BAD- but not this time! The Lone Pine Trail is a good measure of the great trails in this area. This trail was the first ride out of the gate (the car) and all of us felt the climb up to 7000-feet; hell of a warm up! The trail has flow and a few rock-garden bits; everything fit together as we pedaled to a killer downhill. We were not disappointed - this downhill was NICE. We hammered using big-ring action which helped the setup for ‘sweet s-turns’ to float over root and rock chatter. A consensus was agreed upon; to climb up for a repeat run - ohhhhh yeah. While covering 17 miles of trail the constant aroma of Pinyon Pine wood was the warm welcome and lasting goodbye to a wonderful ride. James
